How did Abe's Online come about?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back in the 50's and 60's in a small town called Jasonville, IN
my grandfather owned a market called Abe's Market. His slogan was,"If
Abe's Doesn't Have It, You Don't Need It".
This market was a stopping place for teenagers on their way to
school and for the adults to stand and gossip all day.
What I remember most about the store and my grandpa was all the
dust lying around the place, the spittoon sitting by the coal
stove, and him in his straw visor hat and bib overalls. I remember
him watching the soaps on the small tv in the store and waiting
for commercials to give customers their change. He would yell
at my sister and me for sweeping the floor, because we were stirring
the dust up :). I also remember him drinking his coffee out of
a saucer, which I could never figure out, and him rolling his
bugler cigarettes. I remember grabbing a bottled soda out of
the cooler and it being so cold it would hurt your teeth. I swear
it was the coldest pop ever. Grandpa passed away in the 80's
and the store was closed down. So that is where Abe's Online
comes in...
Being an avid web fanatic I had always wanted to start my own
website. What better way to honor my grandpa than to name it
after him. My daughter and I started the site in 2003. With her
being a teenager she has been an excellent source for products.
I love building web sites and could spend hours sitting here
working on this stuff. Why did I chose the product line that
Abe's carries? I am a major heavy metal, rock, and alternatvie
rock fan and could spend hours chatting about the latest tunes.
I have a very odd sense of humor and really enjoy sarcastic humor.
Therefore...that is why we carry the products we do. If it wasn't
something enjoyable to me it would not be fun and interesting
to me. The best part in all this is seeing all the cool products
available in
the
genres.
So there you have it....boring huh? So anyway, at Abe's you will
get the same small town personalized service that my grandfather
offered in his store minus the dust....;).

The
infamous Abe. This is grandpa Abe sitting in Abe's market, probably
watching the
soap opera's that he loved to watch so often :).
A
photo of grandpa Abe and my father inside the market. This picture
was taken after he had been diagnosed with cancer and wasn't feeling
well. He passed away shortly after being diagnosed back in the
80's. My father passed away in 1987 in a fatal car accident.
Even
on a photo shoot grandpa Abe had to wear his bib overalls. I don't
remember ever seeing grandpa without overalls on.
